BoatHouse’s second studio EP, Hibernation, is an ethereal soundscape contrasting the void and fullness that comes with Chicago’s enduring winters. Kipp Stone and Kweku Collins duel in their features on “Far Away”, Drea Smith’s voice calls out from the depths of BoatHouse’s windy beats on “Twin Flame”, while Allan Kingdom closes out the EP on “Lavish” with his lyricism bouncing in between equally springful beats. “Coming Into Focus” is where Boat shines, however, as he creates a flow of energy in his song despite lacking a featured artist on the track.
